Workforce Data Scientist - Human Resources (HR)

This is a full time, direct hire, remote/work from home position. Hire must be living in the continental US and open to working eastern time zone hours.

SUMMARY

Workforce Data Scientists uncover critical workforce insights from large volumes of data and help Human Resources (HR) leaders make data-driven decisions to better deliver on the organization’s mission & to improve the overall associate experience.  The scientist's primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, performing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with human capital management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Extract data from multiple disparate sources using state of the art methods and technology.

Assist in data preparation to create advanced statistical analyses and predictive models.

Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for advanced statistical analyses and predictive models.

Build analytic capabilities and predictive modeling using statistical techniques to resolve organizational challenges and uncover critical human capital insights.

Select features, build and optimize classifiers using machine learning techniques.    

Collaborate with team members and managers to understand organizational needs and assist in development of advanced analytical solutions and plans.

Utilize statistical discoveries to assist in the creation of meaningful presentations, infographics, and white papers that tell a "story" focused on statistical insights, not just data.

Stay up to date with regards to latest advanced analytical and machine learning technologies.

Assist in the development of data visualizations that provide deeper workforce insight for senior leadership.

Support automation efforts to embed analytics into repeatable, production-oriented processes that can be incorporated into the organization’s workflow.

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelors degree required; preferred areas of study Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics

Work Experience

2 years of related experience required:

Experience using R, Python or SAS for data analytics

Familiarity with data visualization techniques & tools

Basic understanding of relational databases & relationships between tables

Experience delivering concise, actionable presentations and recommendations to key stakeholders

2 years of related experience preferred:

Experience designing, building and optimizing statistical models
