An exciting opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team working on one of the largest Disaster Recovery Programs in the United States. You will be part of an expert team working with local communities across the US Virgin Islands, supporting the Office of Disaster Recovery in building safe, resilient & thriving communities by completing key recovery projects to transform and strengthen the Territory’s infrastructure.
Our Program Management team is seeking a Workforce Development Specialist local to St Croix or St. Thomas to support the team with the critical task of managing federally funded recovery projects across the US Virgin Islands. The selected individual will be located in the USVI while working on this endeavor and communicate with the team located in the USVI and CONUS. This role will report to the Jacobs Workforce Development Manager and multiple Sector Leads while being the point person for the Program's entire team.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement workforce development programs to support the project's goals.
* Collaborate with local training resources and organizations to create training opportunities.
* Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training needs.
* Organize and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars.
* Serve as a liaison between the project team and local educational institutions.
* Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of local staff.
* Provide support in career counseling and job placements services.
* Attend and represent the organization at local workforce development meetings and events.
* Bachelors degree in Education, Vocational Training, Human Resources, or a related field
* Proven experience in workforce development, training or teaching
* Strong connections with local training resources and organizations in the USVI
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organizational and planning skills
* Experience with public speaking and presenting
* Proficiency in creating and organizing training documents and materials
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Familiarity with the local labor market and workforce development trends
