Te Kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
We are seeking a Workplace Trainer/ Assessor to help identify and deliver the training requirements of our front-line workforce. You will assist with facilitating training and induction sessions, provide workplace-based training and support for front-line employees, and provide ongoing support and mentorship for industry qualification training. This role will have a great impact on the business and ensure strong foundations and best practices for achieving desired outcomes. 

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

Assisting with training needs analyses for front-line crews and front-line leaders. Working with front-line employees in your area to deliver training, coaching, and mentoring to meet the identified training and development needs. Promote enrolment into industry qualification training to front-line employees and provide learning and assessment support for trainees and apprentices.    Run regular onboarding/induction workshops to meet the needs of new employees. Helping to identify and develop Downer “core skill standards” and assess these and Plant Competencies (Verifications of Competency) for front-line employees.   Assist with developing and delivering communication and leadership training for front-line employees. Travel around your region is a requirement in this role.

To be successful we are looking for candidates with the following attributes:

Be a Registered Connexis workplace assessor, or committed to become one  A respected subject matter expert in an Operational field. Good working knowledge of learning/training within an organisation Proven leadership skills Skilled in developing people, encouraging participation, mentoring and sharing knowledge Well-developed organisational and time management skills  The ability to cope well under pressure Strong interpersonal skills – to be able to connect with people both internally and externally, across a range of levels Good computer skills including the use Microsoft Teams Full class 1 drivers licence Some National travel may be required from time to time.
