Job Summary:

 

Altair has an opening for a CAA intern (computational aeroacoustics) who will join Altair’s dynamic and agile ultraFluidX CAA team.

 

ultraFluidX is Altair’s high-fidelity CFD solution for transient external aerodynamics and aeroacoustics. The GPU-based lattice Boltzmann solver delivers unbeatable performance for the ultra-fast prediction of aerodynamic properties of passenger and heavy-duty vehicles, aero-acoustics, and building and environmental aerodynamics.

 

The successful applicant will collaborate closely with technical specialists and the ultraFluidX development team to further complete the ultraFluidX validation for aeroacoustics. This will involve running validation cases such as predicting acoustic pressure in diffraction problems involving a monopole and rigid bodies, investigating noise generated by cylinder flows, investigating noise radiated by flow past a cavity, ….

 

What You Will Do:

 

Conduct challenging flow and aeroacoustics simulations

Collaborate closely with development and project management teamsContribute to and support the development of test and validation cases for Altair uFX

What You Will Need:

 

Basics:

 

Master's student specializing in CFD, CAA, and numerical methodsPassion for numerical simulation and finding creative solutions for challenging mathematical and physical problemsWillingness to work in a close-knit, agile development teamFluent English language skills

Preferred:

 

Familiarity with ALTAIR engineering software productsFamiliarity with commercial CAD applicationsCustom programming experience (Python, C)
