Working Student/Intern - Aerodynamics (m/f/d)
**Job Description Summary** The Inclement Weather group of the Fan and Compressor Aerodynamics team at GE Aerospace in Garching is looking for a student with a background in Aerodynamics who can support a wide range of numerical analysis to assess inclement weather and ingestion threats for several engine architectures. The student will work under close supervision of a mentor. The project is envisioned to have a duration of 8 months with the option of contract extension. Find more information about our Garching site here: https://invent.ge/garching **Job Description** **Roles and Responsibilities** + The work involves analysis of field event data, setup and execution of complex 2D and 3D numerical models (particle tracking in Ansys CFX), results post-processing, and interpretation of multi-phase CFD data. + carrying out and interpreting the various types of numerical simulations, participation and presentation of results during technical reviews and close coordination with members of the Aerodynamics and Inclement Weather team. **Required Qualifications and Characteristics** + Master study during final semesters of Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering with exposure to the field of turbomachinery aerodynamics. + Good understanding of the physics associated with turbomachinery aerodynamics. + Hands-on experience with numerical mesh generation, CFD simulation and data analysis. + Proven ability to deliver reliably and on complex tasks. + Self motivated and a quick learner. + Ability to work in a cross-functional global team in a multi-cultural environment. + Fluency in English.
