POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the Team Manager, sets the example of team leadership within a HPO environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures overall performance of the team to include quality, safety, reliability, waste and sanitation to achieve business goals.
Pro-actively encourages continuous improvement and daily problem-solving initiatives to increase operational effectiveness and efficiencies.
Coaches, trains, and ensures compliance to plant established procedures (including work rule, safety and sanitation guidelines) while demonstrating a deep respect for the capabilities of all people.
Ensures that all activities follow documented operating procedures and recommends updates to existing procedures as required.
Coordinates & schedules crew vacation requests & overtime.
Determines needs and conducts training required for new & existing employees.
Ensures product meets quality standards, coordinates problem solving directly with QA floor inspector.
Resolves minor mechanical and processing problems and makes necessary adjustments to keep line running.
Performs job tasks of other team members of jobs of equal or lower grades.
Facilitates teamwork and coaching among team members.
Holds meetings for production tracking, problem solving and team development.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent attendance required.
Meets standards in overall performance rating in most recent performance review.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Three years of manufacturing and/or industrial experience required.
Demonstrated ability to perform changeovers and preventative maintenance on all production equipment required.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose mechanical problems and resolve minor mechanical and processing problems required.
Demonstrated ability to understand financial impact of business decision affecting staffing, product components and inventory required.
Demonstrated computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, statistical database applications & Lotus Notes required.
Demonstrated ability to pro-actively encourage continuous improvement and daily problem-solving initiatives required.
Proven ability to coach, train and influence while demonstrating a deep respect for the capabilities of all people required.
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking skills to determine risk assessment required.
Ability to work overtime/weekends required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of SAP, Infinity, Power Point, Access preferred.
Demonstrated practice of leadership principles required and formal leadership training strongly preferred.
Demonstrated competency to operate all equipment in the business strongly preferred.
Experience effectively leading and facilitating team and cross-functional meetings strongly preferred.
