The Global Workplace Design Occupancy Planning agenda is to:
· Create a work environment that provides a meaningful employee and client experience, helps attract and retain top talent, supports health and wellbeing of building occupants, optimizes our real estate, and delivers value for investment.
· Develop a platform which provides clear governance and policy, process and methodology, scalable solutions, and measures the effectiveness and efficiency of our workplace to support employee productivity.
· Implement Workplace Evolution; Morgan Stanley’s workplace strategy for projects across the portfolio, including Branch of the Future for Wealth Management locations.
In the Corporate Services division, we empower our businesses by creating collaborative workplace solutions and commercial services that enhance the employee and client experience, while optimizing the value of our sourcing and third-party lifecycle to enable the Firm to do-and-win business. This is a Director position within the Corporate Real Estate team which is responsible for overseeing the management, workplace design and leasing activities of the Firm's properties. May also include the purchasing of properties and all related responsibilities.

What you’ll do in the role:
· Manage occupancy planning, programming, to complete test fits and overall preliminary planning for wealth management branch locations.
· Leverage existing Workplace Guidelines, governance, policies, planning metrics, principles, best practices, and lessons learned to ensure ongoing innovation and iterative improvement to the planning guidelines.
· Work with the global head of planning and other WM occupancy planners to coordinate delivery of consistent solutions across our platform.
· Leverage other distributed workplace team members for additional support and subject matter expertise.
· Partner with the Capital Projects team to assist with business unit engagement, programming, and office entitlements reviews in collaboration with Project Management.
· Maintain an active awareness and understanding of global workplace planning, design and strategy trends.

What you’ll bring to the role:
· 7 years relevant space planning, design and project management experience in Corporate/Financial Services industry.
· Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design / planning.
· Detailed experience in occupancy and space planning. High level understanding of fire egress, life safety principles, workplace design, and construction principles and processes.
· Understanding of 2D and 3D drawing medium, e.g. sketches, elevations, and perspectives.
· Organizational skills, ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines and provide high quality service to clients.
· A flexible approach with the ability to adapt to changing conditions and priorities and to work in a collaborative team environment.
· Awareness of linkage between design, real estate planning financial results
· Ability to distill complex information to the essential for client decision-making. Interpersonal skills with the ability to present to and communicate with demanding clients within the Business Units, managing expectations through the planning process.
· NCARB, NDIDQ, LEED AP, WELL Accreditation are advantageous.
· Computer skills in Microsoft platforms, power point. Basic AutoCAD skills.
