We are seeking a Workplace Trainer/ Assessor to help identify and deliver the training requirements of our front-line workforce. You will assist with facilitating training and induction sessions, provide workplace-based training and support for front-line employees, and provide ongoing support and mentorship for industry qualification training. This role will have a great impact on the business and ensure strong foundations and best practices for achieving desired outcomes.
There are 3 roles in total across South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria
Your day-to-day tasks will include
Assisting with training needs analyses for front-line crews and front-line leaders Working with front-line employees in your area to deliver training, coaching, and mentoring to meet the identified training and development needs Promote enrolment into industry qualification training to front-line employees and provide learning and assessment support for trainees and apprentices Run regular onboarding/induction workshops to meet the needs of new employees Helping to identify and develop Downer “core skill standards” and assess these and Plant Competencies (Verifications of Competency) for front-line employees Assist with developing and delivering communication and leadership training for front-line employees. Travel around your region is a requirement in this role From time to time there may be interstate travel requiredWhat you’ll bring
Significant front-line experience in what we do (asphalt, road maintenance, pavement rehabilitation or similar) Good working knowledge of learning/training within an organisation Proven leadership skills Skilled in developing people, encouraging participation, mentoring and sharing knowledge Well-developed organisational and time management skills The ability to cope well under pressure Strong interpersonal skills – to be able to connect with people both internally and externally, across a range of levels Good computer skills including the use Microsoft Teams Current drivers licenseDowner is a company that believes people are our greatest asset.
