Our Mackay Workshop is a one-stop-shop for mine site activities, rail bogies and motors, including mechanical and electrical overhaul capabilities, and flexible workforce resources supporting shutdown and outage scopes from CHPP to Port.
We have an exciting and rare opportunity for a Workshop Manager to join us in Mackay. The role will be based in our HUGE workshop in Paget.
About you
To be considered for the role you will possess the following skills, experience, and attributes:
Oversee day-to-day workshop operations.Foster a strong, cohesive team culture.Lead and manage a team of skilled Mechanical/Electrical Supervisors, Warehouse and QA Coordinators.Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates to both internal and external stakeholders.Manage workshop budgets and company KPIs, ensuring cost control for parts and labour.Identify and implement improvements in existing workshop processes.Maintain a clean and safe working environment.Ideally you will have
5 years' experience working in a supervisory/management position in a workshop/maintenance environment.Trade Qualified.Methodical and pragmatic approach to support schedules/break downs whilst still maintaining service schedules is required.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding practical solutions.Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.Proficiency with Windows-based workshop software and spreadsheets.Strong organisational and time management skills.What makes you right for UGL
