We are currently seeking a Workshop Planner/Scheduler to join our Adelaide team. The primary purpose of the role is to plan and schedule maintenance activities and administer the various maintenance systems utilised by the Adelaide workshop.
The Workshop Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling the day-to-day operations within the workshop, focusing on the timely execution of new drill builds and customer service repairs. This role requires close collaboration with internal teams, including, Technical Service Manager, Workshop supervisor, procurement, and the customer service department, to ensure all projects are completed on schedule and within customer expectations. Want to know a little more about the role? Typical day-to-day tasks include:
• Develop and maintain detailed schedules for the construction of new drilling rigs and the repair of customer equipment, ensuring all required resources (materials, personnel, and equipment) are available at the right time. Prioritize and coordinate repair timelines and resources to meet customer demands while ensuring the timely execution of new drill builds.
• Monitor the progress of new builds, adjusting schedules as needed to avoid delays and meet project timelines.
• Manage work orders in the system, ensuring proper creation, planning, update and closure of work orders.
• Collaborate with the Technical Service & account managers to ensure repair jobs are scheduled in a manner that aligns with customer urgency and expectations.
• Maintain accurate records of all scheduled and completed work, including repair jobs and new drill builds.
• Generate reports on workshop activities, resource utilization, and work progress to provide management with visibility into workshop performance.
• Coach and educates Fleet team on the EAM functions and best practices for performing tasks.
• Participates in CMMS software projects as may occur at a regional level.
Qualifications and Skills
• Proven experience in scheduling or planning within a workshop or manufacturing environment, preferably in the drilling or heavy equipment industry.
• Understanding of drilling equipment, including the processes for new builds and repairs highly desired.
• Oracle and Vworks experience.
• Proficiency in scheduling software and MS Office tools.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and customers.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and manage competing priorities.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the workshop environment.
