Job Summary
The Wound –Ostomy Continence Nurse assists in the coordination of care and education of the wound –ostomy continence patient. The wound ostomy and continence nurse and clinical specialist assist in coordinating care for the wound/Ostomy continence patient. Serves as a role model for the practice of nursing care.

Collaborates and consults with physician, clinical staff, patients, and families to assist in developing and implementing wound ostomy continence plan of care
Serves as a resource to staff for patient care needs
Participates in staff development
Collaborates and consults with other disciplines, peers, patients, and families to provide comprehensive healthcare using clinical research and evidence-based practice
Assists in education of patients and families
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required
Kentucky RN License
BSN
Continence certification preferred
Two to five years of experience with wound ostomy patients preferred
BCLS
Must obtain Certification in area wound and ostomy within 2 years
