Apple’s Wallet, Payment and Commerce teams are working hard to replace the physical wallet and include services like Apple Pay, Transit, Access, Car Key and Identity. We continue to expand Apple Pay and Wallet to new markets and digitize even more of what we carry in our physical wallet. We are looking for an experienced engineering manager to lead our efforts to expand our offerings in India and begin growing an engineering capability in the region. If you are interested in driving a critical and growing part of bringing Apple Pay and other Wallet services to India and beyond, this role may be for you!DescriptionDescriptionThis role opens up a new engineering site for Wallet, Payment and Commerce Engineering. The person in this role will be responsible for defining the charter for the new team and leading WPC’s engineering teams in the region. WPC also runs the systems processing payments made to Apple and this role will include working closely with our partners to expand payment choices across Asia. The Apple teams involved in developing new products are spread throughout the company and the world, so leveraging relationships is critical. It's imperative to be an expert at building and growing relationships. At Apple there is never a playbook. You must be comfortable operating in new and unfamiliar areas, quickly building competence to bring insights into your work. Success requires breaking down seemingly impossible problems into manageable pieces, leveraging experts and owners, and adapting as we learn more. Leaders at Apple are expected to identify and put forward solutions, own their projects, and drive successful outcomes. Strong communication and deep collaboration is required for success. You will need to partner deeply with our business development, product, regulatory and other engineering teams. You must be able to tailor your communication to the appropriate context and seniority. You need to be able to write clearly, deliver effective presentations, and run large and difficult meetings. Technical depth and expertise in the payments space is required for your success. You must have strong management and team leadership skills to succeed in this role.
