Purpose: To assist with editorial and research duties related to faculty's area.
Job Description: The editorial/research assistant will work under the supervision of Dr. Bliven as part of the editorial team for a peer-reviewed journal. Tasks may include but not be limited to: processing manuscripts in the online management systems through the peer-review process, communicating with authors and reviewers, and performing searches and brief summaries on topics related to the journal's strategic initiatives.
Qualifications: Must be able to establish a consistent work schedule that is flexible and performed independently most of the time. Must be able to communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including supervisors, authors, reviewers, and the editorial team.
Skills: Competent in computer skills: Online management system (will receive training), Google docs, social media (Twitter).
Special characteristics: Dependability, Critical thinker, detail-oriented, professional written communication, ability to work independently, good time management to complete required tasks in a timely yet flexible schedule.
