Location: Portsmouth, Virginia
Contract Duration: Initial 12-month contract (likely to be extended)

Airswift is partnering with a leading client in the power industry to find an experienced WTG Commissioning Site Manager for an exciting opportunity in Portsmouth, Virginia. This role is crucial for the successful commissioning of Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) projects and offers a chance to work on large-scale, impactful projects within the offshore wind sector.

Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Coordination: Manage and coordinate the commissioning scope of Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) and Transition Pieces (TP), working closely with contractors, project teams, and other key stakeholders. Site Presence: Regularly attend work locations to oversee and manage commissioning activities, ensuring smooth execution and timely reporting. Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs, project requirements, and contractual obligations by all commissioning parties. Daily Coordination: Lead daily coordination meetings, facilitating clear communication and efficient collaboration between stakeholders involved in commissioning activities. Schedule & Progress Tracking: Monitor and report on commissioning schedule progress, providing input to the scheduling team to ensure milestones are met. Documentation Review: Oversee the process for reviewing and managing deliverable documentation, including reports, plans, and As-Built documents. Energization & Isolation Management: Oversee and authorize Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) isolations, as well as energization activities for high and low-voltage equipment, ensuring all work is executed safely and in line with regulations. Work Authorization: Authorize and manage work on energized WTGs, ensuring all tasks are conducted with safety as the top priority. Document Drafting & Review: Draft, update, review, and approve essential plans, procedures, and certification documentation related to commissioning processes. Owner Representation: Serve as the primary point of contact for witnessing, inspecting, auditing, and accepting commissioning work on behalf of the owner. Administrative Duties: Manage your own travel schedule between assigned sites as needed to oversee multiple locations. Key Requirements: Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commissioning Site Manager, with specific preference for those with direct experience in Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) projects. Project Management: Demonstrated expertise in managing complex commissioning projects, particularly with a focus on offshore wind industry projects valued at $100M+. Education: At least a High School Diploma/GED. Industry Expertise: Prior experience managing major capital projects, with a focus on offshore wind and WTG commissioning is essential. Project Management Tools: Proficient in utilizing project management tools to oversee complex commissioning scopes and timelines.
