X-Ray Tech, Level II

Basic Qualifications:

An application must include a resume for review and consideration. This position requires a minimum of high school diploma or GED certificate. This position requires a minimum of three months of related experience and/or training. Availability for all shifts (including 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and weekend shift) is necessary. The ability to work overtime and weekends is required as schedules may vary based on operational needs; flexibility is essential. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Job Summary: The L2 X-Ray Shoot & Reader will radiograph and inspect castings, sample parts, and structural members for flaws, cracks, or presence of foreign materials and process related deviations. 

Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities:

Operates x-ray and film processing equipment. Must possess the skills and knowledge to setup and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results. Must be thoroughly familiar with the scope of limitations of the x-ray technique and inspection method. Must have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standards and customer requirements. Capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervisor to trainees and Level I personnel. Must be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the x-ray method. Must be capable of developing work instructions from approved general procedures. Work instructions shall require final approval by X-Ray Level III. Must have basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology. Perform system checks and calibrations on all associated equipment related to x-ray process within predetermined limits. Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime.

Skills and Abilities:

Internal certification with rectification every five years is required. Reads, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Effectively present information and respond to questions from management. Calculate figures and amounts, such as proportions, percentages, area, and circumference. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Equipment Used: Various radiographic imaging equipment, 320 MEV, 450 MEV, and Linatron Units.
