Job DescriptionTo offer specialist support service to the Team Leader, Credit Origination & Collection, with the preparing of credit papers, inclusive of New Lending, New to Bank Lending, Increase of facilities held and annual review pertaining to intuitive lending, in order to grow the asset base of the Bank and to evaluate counter-party credit risks with Standard Bank lending and investment activities at the client interface, as well as ensure that credit risk is contained within acceptable parameters.
QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related.
Additional InformationExperience:
3-4 years of experience regarding client solutions on offer by the Bank in order to be ableto assist with advising clients and internal stakeholders regarding offerings that could
suite the client best, and to be able to ensure compliance at all times.3-4 years of experience in operational risk policies, process and procedures to ensure total compliance as required to safeguard the Bank.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and declines non-viable deals at source, working in partnership with Enterprise/SME Manager/ ED Bankers/ Team Leaders and client to identify alternatives that could bring the deal/proposal within acceptable risk parameters relative to profitability.Conduct credit evaluation interviews during deal negotiation directly with the stakeholders, including the client, to obtain sufficient and appropriate information to evaluate business risk and deal viability, from a credit risk perspective, identifying credit and risk management requirements at the source of the deal negotiation/business proposal.Evaluates and recommends appropriate facilities in line with risk evaluation, presenting and defending own judgement and senior credit evaluations to clients in a manner which does not negatively affect the business relationship.Evaluates whether credit proposals meet sound business criteria and counterparty credit risk falls within acceptable parameters,recommending appropriate business credit facilities including terms or conditions of facilities, to mitigate and manage the risk for
the Bank effectively.Identifies, quantifies and evaluates sources of risk in relation to profitability of business proposal and financial viability of corporation as a whole, interrogates information obtained to gain a thorough understanding of business parameters which create profit/value as well as the associated risks, utilising industry risk analysis available to identify and understand contextual threats to existing and potential clients.
