THE WORK
Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly motivated, gregarious, and diversely talented software engineer to lead the development of virtual and augmented reality applications. This position will lead a team through planning, design, production, delivery, and maintenance of a suite of high-tech immersive simulations for training professionals in military scenarios and procedures. Candidates must have a solid computer science background, significant expertise in AR/VR development for military applications, broad program leadership skills, and experience with modern Agile and DevSecOps practices. Integrating game engine-based tools with web APIs and networked communication.

Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years experience with Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality development in Unity 3D
• 4+ years experience in program leadership
• 4+ years experience coding in C# in Unity 3D
• 4+ years experience creating Editor Scripts and tools in Unity 3D
• 4+ years experience in UI/UX design (VRUX design experience preferred)
• 4+ years experience developing for both Apple and Android mobile platforms
• 4+ years experience with networking and multiplayer applications
• 4+ years experience working with 3D models and 3D modeling workflows
• 4+ years experience working with animation, rigs, clips, controllers, and state machines
• 4+ years experience with OOP, design patterns, event delegates, asynchronous functions, data structures, and algorithms
• Exceptionally high standards for work quality, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Willingness to train and mentor associate software engineers and multimedia design engineers
• Demonstratable design aesthetics (portfolio appreciated)
Desired Skills:
• Networking, and/or Web RTC or other calling and conferencing configurations

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $98,800 - $186,100. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
