Yard and Equipment Manager

Essentially, this position is meant to function at the ROM level but focuses on only Yard and DEI Operations (it does not include responsibilities pertaining to the Administration Team). This is a great developmental opportunity for a high potential Yard Manager or Equipment Manager to develop into a full-fledged ROM. It also provides an opportunity for a candidate with an affinity for Yard and DEI responsibilities to better integrate the two aspects of our business.
5 years related work experience
Have a valid, clean driver’s license.
Climb on and off large equipment and trucks.
Work both indoors and outdoors year-round.
Work regular overtime, including weekend hours at the auction sales. You can expect to work extra hours for three weeks prior to each sale, during each sale and for two weeks after each sale.
Travel to other auction sites when necessary.
Ensures sale site safety and adherence to environmental regulations.
Effectively manage, coach and develop their direct and indirect reports.
Manage the customer experience throughout the auction site.
Oversees yard layout and equipment line up and equipment preparation (refurbishing). Manage, monitor, maintain and enforce Yard and DEI standards, procedures, process and best practices at the auction site and at offsite locations.
Manage, monitor, maintain and implement the auction site’s Detailed Equipment Information (DEI) Program standards, procedures, best practices and guidelines and integrate those efforts with the yard layout and equipment set up procedures by working with the Yard Manager and Equipment Manager.
Manage direct and indirect reports as you work to develop a strong team with clear succession plans, including setting performance objectives and conducting annual performance reviews.
Assist the training department with developing and delivering related training and certification programs to employees as required.
Assist in the on boarding and training of the Trainee Operations Manager.
Maintain strong connectivity with the Designated On-Site Safety and Environmental Coordinator and promote a culture where the health and safety of our employees is top priority for all.
Assist in the development, evolution and adherence of our EH&S policies and procedures including our efforts to achieve COR certification.
Oversee the efforts of the Refurbishing Manager as it relates to the schedule, budget, quality control and accounting of refurbishing operations.
Oversee DEI quality control.
Oversee the customer experience as it relates to Yard and DEI at the auction site.
Recommend best practices to improve Yard and DEI processes.
Oversee the production of sale advertising materials.
Monitor key performance indicators.
Integrate the efforts of the Operation’s Team with the objectives of the Sales team.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Regional Operations Manager.
