Position Overview:
As part of the talented Mercury team, you will be part of the Plant 103 Parts & Accessories Global Distribution Center. As a Yard Driver on 1st shift you will be operating heavy-duty trucks and tractors to move trailers and other equipment around the yard and within warehouse premises, on occasion drive truck off site for necessary maintenance while adhering to all safety rules and regulations. As a valued team member, you will also assist in daily operations to ensure timeliness in meeting customer demands.

Essential Functions:
Ability to safely operate equipment and follow yard guidelines (i.e., speed limits, wheel chocking, etc.)Must be able to transport, load and unload trailers as required.Receive and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery of goods to ensure timely service.Record vehicle information accurately and legibly maintaining records, logs and forms, including any forms required by the Department of Transportation (DOT).Inspect vehicle(s) and trailers to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order; maintain proper fuel levels and perform trailer inventory checks.Utilize warehouse management systems (e.g., yard management system, radio) to move trailers to designated locations within the yard.Accurate handling of CODs, delivery manifests.Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.Must have valid CDL.Medical examiner's certificate.Ability to have and maintain a clean driving and safety record within company policy limits.Basic knowledge and awareness in the following areas: Hazmat, Driver Specific Hazmat, and Security Awareness.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in operating heavy machinery or commercial vehicles.Customer service-oriented mentality with the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively so others will understand.Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems with minimal supervision. Excellent attendance record.Ability to maintain a professional demeanor.Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor’s degree.Prior experience in a distribution or logistics environment.Working Conditions:
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb in/out of trailers for 8 hours a day.Must be able to balance and use arms and hands to reach, pull, push, clasp and move a variety of materials.Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 lbs. frequently.Be able to work in a fast-paced environment as business needs dictate.Must be able to work in all plant environments within warehouse and distribution.Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.Must be able to operate/drive PIT equipment, including reach truck, OP, pallet jack, etc. as needed.Add Pay Verbiage
The anticipated pay range for this position is $25-$27 hour. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.as
