Purpose of Role The Yard Monitor is responsible for overseeing the movement, inventory, and documentation of all inbound and outbound trailers within the facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring operational efficiency, safety, Areas of Accountabilities Safety and Organization + Check in drivers and vendors, ensuring accurate and efficient data entry using the Yard Management System (YMS) + Report all safety incidents, including near misses, first aid occurrences, or property damage, to the Production Manager. + Conduct routine yard checks and maintain yard cleanliness while adhering to good housekeeping practices. Improve and maintain Quality and Production Expectations + Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and processes related to site operations. + Collaborate with Yard Drivers and communicate effectively with leadership during shift changeovers to provide updates on yard status + Complete required documentation accurately, including activity logs, trailer inventory, and shift production reports. + Maintain up-to-date Vehicle Registration Identification (VRID) using Yard Management System (YMS). + Monitor and oversee yard-related trailer movements, coordinating with drivers and team members to ensure smooth operations. + Conduct physical checks of trailer inventory to ensure accuracy and maintain accountability. + Act as a liaison between operation teams, customers, and vendors, fostering clear and effective communication Knowledge, Skills, and Experience + High School Diploma, GED, or comparable work-related experience preferred. + Experience working with Microsoft Suite of products, including Excel and Outlook. + Familiarity and experience working in an administrative position. + Experience working in a fast-paced, shipping and receiving warehouse environment preferred. + Strong analytical and quantitative, problem solving, organization, decision making, and time management skills. Detail-oriented. + Self-learner and self-starter. + Strong customer service focus and skills. + Ability to handle diverse and complex tasks with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability. + Strong verbal, written, and email communication skills. + Prior Fork-Lift experience preferred, but not required. + Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish a plus. 01/15/25 Rehrig Pacific Company is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
