We have an exciting opportunity for a Shunter on Nights to join our CML site in Telford on a full time, permanent basis.

Shifts: 2ON 6OFF pattern - 18:00pm-06:00am. 

Salary: £15,374 per annum+.

Job DescriptionObserving and adhering to company rules, site procedures and all aspects of Health & Safety and Hygiene at all timesEffectively managing own working time in line with the Road Transport DirectiveLiaising with colleagues and ensuring completion of shift reportConducting daily checks, immediately reporting any defects and / or damage and completing associated documentationCarrying out trailer checks on loaded trailers and report to ops staffCompleting trailer checklist and reporting to operations deskCarrying out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checksLiaising with the warehouse control and goods in staff to ensure smooth and efficient loading / unloading of trailersCompleting vehicles downloads as per the company policyMonitoring services / MOTs – liaising with Transport Office and with service vendorAssisting with fuel delivery / manual dip of fuelKeeping yard in clean / tidy conditionLiaising with Transport Office as and when required i.e. special promotions and / or livery schedulesManage the flow of traffic in and out of the yard

QualificationsMust hold currently hold a C+E licence Attention to detail / accurateAbility to work without direct supervisionAdaptable and methodical approach to work / trainingConscientious and reliableExcellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate informationAble to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
