We are looking for a Yard Employee in Maltby (UK). 

You must be able to relate really well with customers and team members. You like to work in a team, helping out wherever needed; but you can also self-start and work on your own. You need to be flexible, capable of dealing with stress and be organized, as you will handle several tasks at once. You will be the eyes and ears of the Yard Operations Manager therefore a high level of attention to detail will be extremely useful. Furthermore, you have: 

Experience operating heavy machinery. (Operating a large 36,000 lbs forklift is an asset.) 2+ years in a role where you worked in-person with customers.  Good computer skills and able to learn new programs quickly. Professional level English

You'll maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. 

This is not an “8:00AM to 5:00PM” job. As an event-driven company, overtime is a major part of what we do. 

You must be able to work outside for extended periods in all types of weather. 

You must be able to climb on top of and under large construction equipment. 

You will be working at one of our biggest auction yards in Europe. The terrain is frequently packed with a wide variety of equipment to be inspected and auctioned. For every auction at our Maltby yard over a a large number lots are inspected, logged, and lined up. Even though we are a company with a digital focus work at the yard remains very intensive. 

As Yard Employee you will safely receive, process, line up and check-out consigned equipment for the auction. Strict adherence to the Ritchie Bros. standard of customer service is expected from you at all times. Dealing with clients, both external and internal is a major part of your job. Therefore, you play a major part in the customer experience. As you become more experienced in our line of work you can promote to Equipment Inspector. In this position you'll: 

Uses an auction listing to line up equipment for display prior to auction Drives/operates heavy and light equipment including key management Operates forklift to load/unload stationary row equipment Basic assembly of equipment i.e. dozer blades, etc. Checks fluid and fuel levels on equipment Performs basic maintenance on RBA owned equipment Performs facility inspections (per checklists), housekeeping or maintenance services
