Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Responsible for the positioning of tanker trailers within the facility and shuttling trailers to designated locations within the yard in addition to rigging and assisting with crane lifting of bulk tanks.
Key Responsibilities
Trailer Movement: Safely maneuver and reposition trailers and containers within the yard as needed to support loading, unloading, and transport activities.
Staging & Organization: Ensure trailers are correctly staged and organized for efficient operations, keeping the yard clean and free from obstructions.
Rigging: Understand and use proper lifting techniques for different types of loads.
Communication with Team: Collaborate closely with drivers, equipment operators, and warehouse personnel to coordinate trailer movements and maintain workflow.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, inspecting yard trucks and trailers for potential hazards before and after each use.
Maintenance Checks: Perform routine checks on yard trucks and equipment, reporting any mechanical issues to the maintenance team to ensure vehicles are in safe working conditions.
Support Operations: Assist with additional yard tasks as needed, including snow removal, minor equipment adjustments, and general yard maintenance.
Qualifications
Experience: Previous experience operating a yard truck, spotting trailers, or a similar role (Two years or more experience operating tractor trailers or yard mules).
Licensing: Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Job involves some walking and frequent climbing in and out of the truck cab and on and off trailers. Must have the ability to safely climb stairs, ladders, and equipment footholds. Frequent movement between truck cab and yard in all weather conditions.
Skills: Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to coordinate with the team.
Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment with changing weather conditions.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Troubleshoot mechanical issues, requesting supervisor assistance when needed
Inspect rigging equipment before each use to ensure all components are in good working condition.
Select and install appropriate rigging hardware and accessories for the load.
Secure loads to prevent shifting or slipping during lifts.
Pay Rate:
