Function MFG Hourly Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperates a yard dog and tractor/trailer in accordance with DOT and Company guidelines in order to move equipment between the yard and the dock. Moves finished goods or raw materials onto/from trucks, warehouse and/or pallets. Operates a standard forklift, handling cart and related equipment and tools to move materials throughout the Plant. Acts as a back-up Truck Driver for delivery function as needed, on an occasional basis.
Operates a yard dog and tractor/trailer in a safe and efficient manner to move equipment between the yard and dock for loading/unloading
Shuttles products to/from local warehouse using a tractor/trailer or straight/box truck
Loads/unloads finished goods or raw materials on trucks, warehouse and/or pallets
Operates standard forklift, handling cart and related equipment and tools
Completes all related paperwork
Maintains daily checks and organization of the yard
Performs regular equipment checks and completes related documentation and notifies supervisor of unsafe conditions
Acts as a back-up Truck Driver on an occasional basis to handle short, local runs as needed
Completes all related paperwork, including accurate driver logs to be submitted on a daily basis along with other trip sheets, fuel maintenance and delivery documentation
Maintains current knowledge of, and complies with, CDL/DOT and Company/Plant requirements and standards
Attends and participates in driver safety meetings
Assists the Transportation Manager with other duties as assigned, supporting the smooth operation of the transportation department.

Experience/Education
Must be at least 21 years of age and physically qualified to drive a truck in accordance with DOT requirements
Must have the ability to read and speak sufficient English to communicate with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals and make entries on reports/records
At least 2 years of prior CDL driving experience with a good driving record
High school or GED equivalent is preferred
Must have a valid commercial driver's license that is issued from only one state or jurisdiction
Familiarity with proper methods and procedures for securing cargo to be able to determine if cargo is properly located, distributed and secured
Meets all other DOT standards and requirements
Basic computer and/or data entry skills are preferred
Job Factors/Work EnvironmentsJob is very physical in nature. Requires frequent periods of driving, sitting, and standing, as well as descending up and down steps to enter and exit yard dog and tractor/trailer.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to where legally required, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
