An internship at Simmons Bank Private Wealth area will provide a current college student an opportunity to receive valuable work experience to complement their course work and career goals. The work in the Portfolio Managers area will be related to their interest of investment asset management and client relations. A Portfolio Manager will mentor the intern by offering day to day guidance on how to navigate assigned tasks and solve real client issues. Simmons Portfolio Management will benefit from the internship as real work and valuable projects are completed during the course of the internship. The Private Wealth and the bank also uses the internship experience as a way to recruit top college talent.
This internship is located in Columbia, MO.
This internship will take place throughout the 2025 school year, including spring, summer and fall semesters.
A Portfolio Management intern will also include opportunities to hear from company executives, prospective clients and exposure to the overall company culture at Simmons Bank. Will participate in professional development industry conferences and associated networking opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties will include the following:
• Working with the Portfolio Manager on assigned projects
• Assisting Portfolio Manager with processes, tasks and reports on various systems
• Participating, Attending and note taking during meetings with prospective & current clients
Qualifications
Pursuing a degree in business or a related area of study at an accredited college or university and having at minimum of a sophomore standing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Outstanding time management and project management skills. Microsoft Office skills. Strong attention to detail. Positive attitude, fast learner, team player.
