The Young Adult Peer Mentor works one on one with Youth and Young Adults to inspire a healthy transition into adulthood. The Young Adult Peer Mentor) is a young adult (YA) who has personal experience living with and recovering from mental health needs, substance misuse, and/or traumatic life concerns. Based in the Healthy Transitions Drop-In Center, the Young Adult Peer Mentor will provide support, coaching, and modeling to improve engagement in healthy transition services.
Responsibilities include:
Carrying a caseload for the purposes of providing individual 1:1 peer mentoring. Provides the core staffing for the Drop In center. Uses the Young Adult Peer Mentoring Practice Profile to define role. Provides outreach and marketing efforts to educate Youth and Young Adults and other stakeholders in the community about the program and services. Helps the Drop In leadership and TIP Facilitator staff with the identification and accessing of existing and new services and service providers that will benefit Youth and Young Adults Helps Youth and Young Adults to develop supportive relationships and community connections. Promotes the development of healthy lifestyles and wellness practices, including substance misuse. Supports Youth and Young Adults in the development of self-sufficiency and positive employment behaviors.Why Vinfen? We are committed to you!
