Job Summary
The Youth & Family Resource Coordinator is responsible for supporting youth and caregivers participating in the H.E.A.R.T. (Health Education and Relationship Talk) Initiative through direct services, community referrals, and educational workshops. This role ensures families have access to mental health, wellness, and support resources, while also planning and facilitating family engagement events that promote healthy youth development. The position fulfills key grant deliverables, including facilitating workshops, distributing wellness-related resources, and community outreach.
Primary Responsibilities
Youth & Family Support
Provide 1:1 support to youth who are self-referred or referred by educators, including conducting needs assessments and making follow-up contacts.Assist youth in crisis using trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices and refer them to appropriate services (mental health, family planning, etc.).Maintain relationships with referral partners (school counselors, nurses, social workers, and youth-serving community organizations).Maintain up-to-date resource guides including crisis intervention, mental health, and wellness support.Facilitate or support evidence-based curriculum sessions as needed.Parent Engagement & Community Education
Plan and lead family-focused engagement events (e.g., family dinners, health fairs, Family Unity Nights).Facilitate at least 4 parent/community workshops annually aligned with grant deliverables.Topics may include:Protect Your Peace: Mental Wellness for Everyday LifeYouth Mental Health First Aid (post-certification)Let’s Talk: Family Communication ToolkitThe Wellness ToolboxEmotional IntelligenceFinding BalanceSupport and track family involvement in workshops, events, and services.Refer parents and caregivers to wraparound services (employment support, counseling, trauma education, etc.).Strengthen family communication, promote risk reduction, and encourage emotional and social growth.Grant & Program Accountability
Facilitate a minimum of 4 workshops per year targeting Boys & Girls Clubs parents and the community.Reach 400+ participants annually (duplicate attendance allowed).Distribute at least 1,000 wellness-related resources each year.Recruit participants through active community outreach, partnerships, and program marketing.Track attendance, participation trends, referrals, and impact data.Submit accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on time.Collaborate with evaluators to develop and monitor outcome measures.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in education, Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or related field preferred.Minimum 2 years of professional experience, including at least 1 year working in mental health, human services, family engagement, or youth development.Experience with program implementation, workshop facilitation, and community resource coordination.

Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.Must participate in all required Club and/or funder training.Evening or weekend hours may occasionally be required for events.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, and use hands.Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.Work environment is generally moderate in noise level and accommodates reasonable physical needs.
