Job Summary
The Bilingual Youth Care Worker is responsible for providing direct supervision, support and direction to children and adolescents in a compassionate and respectful manner. This includes requiring an unwavering commitment to the safety of all children and being aware of all ongoing developments and concerns, on a daily basis, of all children in their care. The Youth Care Worker is responsible for building professional and trusting relationships with our clients in order to maintain a positive and healthy milieu in the shelter unit.
Qualifications
1. Valid driver’s license preferred (required for overnight shifts).
2. Must possess basic personal computer knowledge and skills.
3. Fluency in English and Spanish (demonstrated competency in oral and written communication) required. Interviews will be conducted in English and Spanish.
4. CPR/FA certification required and can be obtained during new hire training
5. Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, flexible hours and overtime as required.
6. 1 year of paid professional experience working with children or adolescents
7. High school graduate or equivalent required. College education in Mental Health or related fields is preferred.
8. Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
