Youth Group Facilitator

The Embracing Project is a drop-in center in Las Vegas, NV— the only specialized center of its kind— that cultivates progressive and lasting change among the lives of at-risk youth and youth survivors of interpersonal violence, sexual exploitation, and/or sex trafficking. Our team embodies dedication and sincere passion to addressing these issues while providing trauma-informed care. We are seeking a part-time Group Facilitator to join our efforts as we equip the youth with the skills, education, and confidence to initiate their healing journey.

This opportunity pays $17/hour. This accounts for at least 20 hours a week and no more than 58 hours in a pay period. 

Schedule (part-time): Saturday 8:45am – 5:15pm & Wednesday/Thursday 1pm – 7pm

What you'll do: The Group Facilitator is a part-time position; responsible for teaching, developing and facilitating support groups and its curricula in accordance with the requests of the placing agency and the needs of each student. They will nurture participation, contribute to content creation and methods of retainment, and maintain a healthy group dynamic while documenting the progress of each student.

Responsibilities include: 

Supervising and maintaining observation of up to 15 clients, while encouraging participation and regulating a progressive, healthy group dynamic. Develops coursework with information pertaining to skill development, education on current social issues, management of emotions/behaviors, and other applicable topics. Adheres to the facility and daily schedules. Being a mandated reporter by properly documenting incidences, progress, hinderances, and communicating effective adjustments. Conducts assigned responsibilities with respect, consideration, encouragement, positive guidance, and utilization of resources towards the students’ overall success. Other duties as assigned, verbally or in written form.

To be considered, you should:

Be empathetic, patient, respectful, and mindful to the youth serviced and peers alike. Have prior teaching and/or group facilitating experience. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. College experience not required, but helpful.  Experience working with youth and/or juvenile placement agencies. Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
