Location: Springfield Corps
Pay Range: $20/hr, 40 hrs/week + housing (taxable fringe)
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, high school diploma requiredMinimum 2 years’ experience working with youthStrong personal Christian values and high moral characterCreative program abilityStrong organizational skillsAbility to be a team member and function in a work alone situation to complete tasksIntermediate level computer skillsValid Driver’s License and able to drive a 12-passenger vanA Uniform wearing Salvationist preferredMusical ability preferred but not a mustMust be available to work evenings and weekendsAbility to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
Responsible for coordinating youth ministries to preteens, teens and young adults through evangelism, discipleship, and Christian service. This job description is not all inclusive. It is intended to identify the essential duties of the position.

Maintain a daily devotional and prayer lifeWeekly participation in Corps Worship Service (Holiness Meeting)Work in unity with the Corps Officers and Youth Peoples Sergeant Major (where applicable) to ensure programming excellence in all aspects of youth ministries Develop and maintain a healthy working relationship with all persons in accordance with the practices and policies of The Salvation ArmyCoordinate and implement the evangelism, discipleship, & leadership development of the young people involved in corps programs including opportunities for new ministry initiativesAct as Liaison to the Springfield Citadel Bridging the Gap program and mainline Corps ministries and programs.Plan and implement recruitment, leadership development & training opportunities to increase the quality and effectiveness of volunteer staffRegular contact and visitation of those that participate in youth activities and their familiesProvide leadership and support for youth Sunday School classes and other youth programming, including Powerhouse tutoring program.Provide leadership and support as needed for youth activities such as, Junior Soldiers, Corps Cadets, Bible Bowl, Music Programs, VBS, Troops Programs, etc.Recruit, coordinate, and transport kids attending camp, Youth Councils, young adult gatherings & other divisional eventsMaintain all records of attendance & statistics for related programMaintain clean work and program areasMaintain youth programming throughout the year including Christmas and summer breakAttend all required Youth Ministries Coordinator meetings conducted by Territorial and Divisional Youth DepartmentsRemain up to date with KeepSAfe training and other requirementsPerform other related duties as assigned
