Youth-Nex Research Assistant (Staff Wage)

Youth-Nex (the Center to Promote Effective Youth Development) at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for part-time research work. Those hired in the Research Specialist (Wage) position will complete research-related tasks, including but not limited to: assisting with cleaning data, helping with codebook development, assisting supervisor with tracking data collection, helping to pilot new materials, screening classroom video, attending team virtual meetings, other administrative tasks as assigned, and more.
 
This position may work across multiple projects and labs at Youth-Nex, including the PIT-CREW lab, Remaking Middle School, the READY lab, and more. Hours for this position will vary depending on the research needs; hires can expect to work between 5-10 hours per week, with hours varying by week based on project schedules. 

Requirements include: 

Some college experience.High attention to detail in all tasks. Ability to use and perform basic troubleshooting of personal technology used for research tasks. Exceptional organization skills and the ability to work independently.Ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Self starer and can effectively work in teams.

 
Preference will be given to candidates with some coursework or experience in education or social science research, and with familiarity to Youth-Nex projects.

Anticipated position compensation: $16.00 Hourly

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This can be sedentary job involving use of computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
