Frederick County Parks & Recreation is seeking an enthusiasticYouth Running Club Coachto lead and mentor participants aged 7-14. This is an exciting opportunity to share your love of running, promote physical fitness, and create a fun, encouraging environment where kids can develop their skills and confidence. Essential Functions What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities As Youth Running Club Coach, you will: + Plan and lead age-appropriate running practices, including warm-ups, drills, training, and cool-downs. + Create a positive and inclusive environment that encourages teamwork and sportsmanship. + Communicate with participants, parents/guardians, and the Program Supervisor regarding schedules, progress, and any concerns. + Incorporate fun activities and games to keep kids engaged and excited about running. + Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and events by following safety guidelines. Typical Qualifications What We’re Looking For: + Must be at least 18 years of age. + Ability to support the Spring Season (10 weeks) twice a week for 1-hour program from April – June 2025. + Able to keep young runners (approximately 25 participants) excited while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.
