Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Provide case management utilizing acceptable case management practices addressing community safety, and client needs, and ensuring compliance with court directives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Social Sciences, Criminal Justice, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Refers clients for court-ordered services. Utilizes acceptable case management practices regarding maintenance of the file and updating computerized case management system with all required information.
+ Provides appropriate level of supervision, identifies criminogenic needs, and creates a plan to reduce failure to appear and/or risk of further offenses.
+ Addresses criminogenic needs, reviews progress, provides immediate short-term crisis assistance, and identifies further intervention as needed.
+ Assesses readiness to change, identifies barriers, provides support, and collaborates to facilitate positive changes.
+ Interacts with criminal justice agencies, treatment agencies, and other agencies providing services to clients to promote the client’s best interests.
+ Attends order to show cause hearings, review hearings, and evidentiary hearings at District and Justice Courts.
+ Conducts Presentence Investigation interviews, when required, following established PSR procedures and approved client questionnaires; compiles professional investigation reports, and submits to court in accordance with established agency procedures.
+ Milestone's mission is to provide services for young adults 18-21 at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Our goals are to provide them with safe housing; to stabilize employment, build skills, to connect them with ongoing resources and support within the community; to help them become self-sufficient so that they can start their lives and make homelessness rare, brief, and non-reoccurring.
+ Milestone offers referral services for housing assistance, supporting community connections, life skill workshops, job training skills and connections to higher education. The Milestone program is a substance free environment. Alcohol, tobacco, smoking (including e-cigarettes) are not allowed on the premises. Illegal drugs are prohibited. All participants in the program are subject to random drug testing.
+ Milestone staff prioritize team work to meet the needs of every one of our 37 young adults we serve at a time. Together the team creates a positive and safe environment in which our young adults can thrive. Case mangers help lead the young adults in goal setting, budgeting, education, and skill development. Supporting house managers by creating levels of accountability. Milestone case managers help promote safe behavior and practices. Milestone case managers are expected to work at least 1 night per week and at least 1 early morning per month.

Additional Information
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Works in an office and/or jail environment, travels to court hearings, meets with clients face-to-face, and performs office-related duties.
