Youth Support Worker

Pivot Point Youth Center provides Short-Term Residential Treatment to girls (ages 12 to 18) with various challenges including maladaptive behavior patterns, moderate mental health disorders, emotional or behavioral disturbances who may have a history of trauma, challenges with substance use, long-term involvement within Clark County’s Department of Juvenile Justice Services, and/or the Department of Family Services. We provide treatment, education, 24-hour supervision, skill sets and services conducive to self-sufficiency, and a reliable, predictable, home-like setting designed to foster peace. We are seeking Full-Time Youth Support Workers to join our efforts as we collectively work towards lasting change in the lives of community adolescence.

Day Schedule: (Each shift requires an hour break).

(Hiring 3) Shift B: Wednesday - Saturday: Wednesday, 2pm – 9pm, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 8am – 9pm; Off on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.

Overnight Schedule: (Each shift requires an hour break).

(Hiring 2) Shift A: Sunday - Wednesday: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, 8pm – 9am, Wednesday, 8pm – 3am; Off on Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

(Hiring 1) Shift B: Wednesday - Saturday: Wednesday, 2am – 9am, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 8pm – 9am; Off on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.


What you'll do:

Provide safety, around-the-clock supervision, mediation, crisis management and social, educational, and recreational support in following the daily schedule. Conducts physical count of students within the living area and records it on a check sheet as required by site operations (every 5, 10, 15, etc. minutes); condensing the time according to status of youth.  Monitor and document client behaviors and activities. Transport youth in company vehicles. Communicate any youth-related concerns, behavior changes, emotions, academic progress, and their overall disposition to ensure the treatment plan is adjusted to meet the youth's success.

 

To be considered, you should:

Be empathetic, patient, consistent, compassionate, an honest work ethic, and treat others with respect. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience or familiarity with youth who have a history of interpersonal violence and/or sexual trauma, or various forms of other traumas; teens having been in/on probation, involvement with the Department of Juvenile Justice and/or the Department of Family Services is preferable.  Must be at least 21 years of age. Must possess a current State Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record for the past (3) years. Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
