Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced z/OS Developer and Support Specialist to maintain and enhance our clients critical legacy systems. This role focuses on mainframe application development and support, ensuring reliable operation during modernization efforts. The supported systems include the Official Mail Accounting System (OMAS), Uniform Allowance Program, Frank Mail Reporting System (FMRS), and Eagan Accounts Payable System (EAPS).

Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and support mainframe applications using IBM z/OS, JCL, COBOL, VSAM, and MQ.Perform data manipulation and process automation using REXX and SAS scripting.Ensure system reliability, availability, and performance during modernization initiatives.Collaborate with stakeholders to document mainframe operations and processes.Implement and adhere to mainframe security protocols, including RACF.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 10 years in mainframe development, including IBM z/OS, JCL, COBOL, VSAM, and MQ.Extensive experience with REXX and SAS scripting for automation and data manipulation.Proven expertise in mainframe application development and support.

Required Technical Skills:

Proficiency in JCL, COBOL, VSAM, MQ, and CICS.Expertise in REXX and SAS scripting for data manipulation and process automation.Comprehensive knowledge of mainframe development and support best practices.

Preferred Technical Skills:

Experience with DevOps practices on mainframes.Familiarity with MQ use with Apache Kafka.Prior experience in performance tuning of mainframe systems.Expertise in documenting mainframe operations and applications.

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication skills for collaboration and planning.Ability to work independently and as part of a team with attention to quality and detail.
