About the team
Worldpay powers 2.2 trillion payments annually across 146 countries in over 135 separate currencies with over a million-merchants supported globally. Worldpay is the largest acquirer by volume globally, we provide a reliable, secure, and scalable payments platform 24x7 365 day a year.
Being part of the 200 strong Infrastructure Services organization, you’ll help to engineer and deliver the core infrastructure services that power our payments platform. We’re responsible for running some very critical systems, maintaining 20,000 servers via an automation platform, thousands of databases and petabytes of storage hosted from our data centers and public cloud.
We are looking to hire a Sr z/OS Mainframe Network Software Systems Programmer to join our z/OS Mainframe Software Infrastructure team. In this role you will help to define strategies for our z/OS Mainframe Network Software environment and support its implementation.
What you’ll own
Works independently to determine mainframe z/OS software upgrade requirements to maintain all products at current and supported levels determined by IBM and third-party vendor(s)Coordinates and schedules all major software upgrades between different Mainframe Technical support teamsDefines resource requirements in conjunction with other managers within Technical Services group to support software and hardware upgrade requirementsDevelops and maintains standards for all Software Infrastructure and Program ProductsMonitors CPU, Memory and DASD trends to maintain service levels of supported softwareStays abreast of vendor software trends and product release schedules for the z/OS technology software on the IBM mainframeManages multiple projects, develops detailed implementation plans and schedules, and prepares periodic status reportsConsults with management and technical staff on other related mainframe software and hardware initiative.Where you’ll own it

z/OS Mainframe VTAM, SNA, APPN & HPR and TCP/IPImplementation, configuration and support of VTAM, SNA, APPN technologiesImplementation, configuration and support of mainframe TCP/IP in a z/OS Parallel Sysplex environmentImplementation, configuration and support of Connect: DirectImplementation, configuration and support of NetView Network ManagementUnderstanding and support of enterprise system communications and file transfer protocolsUnderstanding and support of enterprise encryption applications and processes such as TCPIP AT/TLS & SSL/TLSImplementation, configuration and support of communications server infrastructure program products.Added bonus if you have:
Excellent communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment, and systems management skillsAbility to work with clients, vendors and other Infrastructure Services functional areasStrong skills in mainframe systems administrationThe ability to follow a project through to completion, and/or to work as part of a larger team to complete the components of a complex projectPerform problem determination and resolution, capture and transmit system dumps, closely work with vendor’s technical support, apply fixes and patches, coordinate testing and implementation of fixes and new versions, and work with other mainframe-based technical teams on production roll-outExhibit a collaborative style that promotes teamwork15+ yrs. of related technical experience.Support and participate in Disaster Recovery exercisesProvide on-call supportWorldpay perks - what we’ll bring for you
