A Zero Harm Business Partner provides the expert Health & Safety technical advice, management system guidance and practical support to leaders and staff across the Social Infrastructure division. A Zero Harm Business Partner contributes to the growth and success of the defined portfolio by working in partnership with stakeholders, coaching teams, and influencing behaviours to create a safer, more proactive work environment.
What success looks like:
Delivering timely, high-quality Zero Harm advice. Implementing the Zero Harm strategy effectively. Identifying and addressing safety issues or skill gaps through proactive initiatives. Demonstrating key competencies and behaviours that set the standard for safety excellence.This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact and may require some travel.
In particular, the position will be required to:
Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on all Zero Harm related matters, providing guidance and support to leaders and employees Facilitate the development of a Zero Harm leadership culture within Social Infrastructure that is focused on manger-led delivery of positive Zero Harm outcomes Implementation of The Downer Standard (TDS) and processes Support delivery and implementation of the Zero Harm Strategy and ensure performance outcomes are achieved within agreed timeframes Work closely with Line of Business leaders, contract managers and employees to ensure understanding and adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Obtain and share Zero Harm knowledge and learning to influence business led proactive risk management Facilitate professional and timely investigation of incidents within business areas or lead complex investigations utilising ICAM or equivalent methodology Conduct and assist in the development and delivery of training and coaching as required Assist business areas to understand their Zero Harm risk profile and conduct incident trend analysis as required Monitoring and communicating legislative changes and best practice initiatives to management and all workersNga pūkenga matua | Important Skills
Extensive experience in Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) or OHS roles. Practical knowledge of WHS/OHS legislation across multiple operating contexts. Strong experience in risk assessments and site safety management plan verification Ability to write professional reports and present key findings to senior teams. Experience providing technical health, safety and environmental advice across multiple industry sectors Injury Management and Workers Compensation Exposure to high-risk industries, preferably construction, infrastructure or FM (preferred)Ko te take ka parekareka e koe ki te mahi ki kōnei | Why you will enjoy working here
