Position Summary
The ZipTour Manager is responsible for overseeing all ZipTour operations and staff while creating a culture of safety and fun. They must provide safe and effective leadership for our staff and guests. The manager is responsible for the initial and ongoing training of ZipTour guide leaders and guides. They will oversee staff progression to safely execute the policies and procedures while maintaining the highest level of guest service. The manager will be expected to mentor, coach, and solve problems while maintaining high morale and engagement with staff. The manager will have a positive “can do” attitude while creating a memorable experience for our guests and staff. The manager will help design and implement policy and best practices for the department.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
Manage all areas of the ZipTour, both guest-facing and employee-facing.
Create a work environment that inspires employees and guests.
Hire and train all new staff, including ongoing training and coaching for staff.
Create weekly schedules and ensure accurate payroll.
Consistently provide guidance and coaching to staff on a timely and regular basis.
Track and report near misses and employee injuries.
Communicate effectively with all Mt. Bachelor staff and other departmental leaders.
Effectively communicate with guests and staff.
Monitor labor according to business volume.
Responsible for managing an operating budget and promoting revenue growth through operational excellence.
Manage special events and programs.
Uphold the highest standard of professionalism.
Oversee and assist with all aspects of the daily operation, including but not limited to: opening and closing procedures, equipment inventory, inspections and maintenance, emergency response procedures, and routine line inspections.
Develop caring relationships with guests.
Assist guests with inquiries and resolve guest-related concerns or problems.
Protect the safety of self, staff, and guests at all times.
Ensure work areas are kept safe and free from hazardous conditions.
Continuously model safe work practices and maintain compliance with all safety policies.
Report safety-related incidents and potentially unsafe situations to the Risk Manager.
Demonstrate the highest level of safety awareness.
Oversee equipment inspections and maintenance.
Conduct line rescues.
Establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers and guests.
Design and implement additional policies, procedures, and best practices for this new department.

Interpersonal Contacts
Guests of Mt. Bachelor, Guest Services, Lift Operations, Bike Patrol, Lift Maintenance, Grooming, Marketing, Facilities Maintenance, Fleet Maintenance, and other departments as needed.
Qualifications/Preferred Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in leadership or supervisory role.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working for a zipline, high ropes course, or similar.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
Must pass a background check.
Minimum high School diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and interpret documents and safety manuals.
Communicate effectively before groups of guests.
Physical Requirements
Reasonable physical condition to engage in outdoor activities for up to 10 hours.
Able to stand for extended periods.
Regularly lift 25 pounds above head and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
ZipTour guides may not weigh more than 260 pounds due to manufacturer regulations.
Ability to ascend/descend.

Current Hiring Rate: $28.20/hr

This is a seasonal role with a targeted employment timeframe of 3/31/25 to 10/12/25.
