Zone Design Manager

Job Description

Arcadis is searching for senior level design managers to join our Vancouver Mobility group. We take pride in offering career growth and challenging opportunities within a global organization. The successful candidates will work on the Fraser River Tunnel Project which includes a new, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99. Accountable to the Design Manager an Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivery within budgeted time and cost of works in the nominated geographical Zone/Area, including resource management, contract compliance, interface management, and schedule & stakeholder consultation. 

As a Zone Manager in our growing Mobility team, you will assume full responsibility and provide strategic leadership to the delivery of work to ensure that project time, cost and quality objectives are achieved within your assigned zone. You will have the opportunity to work with global industry leaders in a wide range of disciplines to deliver successful projects. The ideal candidate will have contract delivery experience working for a contractor under a progressive design build.

Key Accountabilities:

Ensure the team within the Zone delivers the scope of services to the agreed program, within the agreed budget and to the required qualityTechnical coordination of all packages within their Zone to ensure a fully coordinated overall design solutionMonitor and report on Zone’s performance against budget, schedule and required qualityUndertake high level monitoring of risks and opportunities and management of significant risk and opportunities for the ZoneEnsure that project management requirements and Management Plans and Procedures are being followed within the ZoneProvide direction and liaise with Zone Design Coordinators, Technical Leads and Package Owners in the day-to-day performance of the services and assist in the resolution of complex issues

Qualifications

Exposure to the delivery of major infrastructure design and documentation20+ years extensive engineering management experienceSenior Level qualifications in their tunnels, highways and bridgesDesign & Build contract delivery experience in a Design Manager role or similarExternal stakeholder and Client management experienceDemonstrated experience in the co-ordination and management of complex technical requirements and interfacesBased in Vancouver

The salary range for this position is $134,190-201,286. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
