Scope of position:
The FTS (Frequency and Time Systems) development team is dedicated to the development of PTP (Precision Time Protocol), grandmaster clocks and boundary clocks.
FTS has an opportunity for a new college graduate at our office in San Jose. The candidate should have a keen interest in embedded software, systems engineering and test. The successful candidate will work in a team centered environment with local and remote team members. Day to day activities will include development, debug and testing of embedded platforms for Precision Time systems. The successful candidate will contribute from the initial requirement stage all the way through development and verification.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Embedded Software development within a Linux environment
Real time software development & test
C programming & test
Test and debug of Ethernet Networks and 1588 Precision Time Protocol
Testing and verification of complex network configurations
Scripting using Tcl, Perl, and Python, bash scripting
Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an Electrical/Electronic engineering
Keen interest in Embedded Systems / Software Development / Hardware Design and Debug
Good written and verbal communication
Work in multi-disciplinary teams and interface with peers and management.
Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
Beneficial to the role
Experience with measurement systems
Experience with or interest in RTL or hardware design and debug
Experience with Networking configuration and debug
Ability to operate in a Linux/Unix environment
Interest in one or more of the following technical areas is an advantage:

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in California, is $66,560 - $128,000.**Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
