Job Description:
Principal Engineer shall be a member of the software team in Microchip’s Secure Computing Products Group responsible for:
Design and develop tools, automation for existing tools and processes, wherever required.Create and maintain CI/CD workflows for development, validation, and release of software components.Enhance existing automation framework for unit testing and validation.Improve tools integration and operations.Work with multi-site cross-functional teams.Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include:
9 to 11 year’s of experience in Demonstrated proficiency in automation and experience with Linux/Windows platforms.Java programming experienceDevOps experience, good understanding of Software Design LifecycleExperience in scripting languages for automation (Groovy, JavaScript, PowerShell, Unix/Linux Scripting, and Python).Expertise in DevOps and associated tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS services) is required.Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools and methodology (Jenkins, JIRA, Git, Bitbucket) is highly desirable. Develop and deploy software into a working production pipelineAutomate day-to-day integration tasks.Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred qualifications include:
Familiarity with scripting languages, such as Python, Perl, and BashExperience working on a software development team using issue tracking tools such as JIRA or Polarion and source control management such as GitAssist in the implementation of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)Proficiency in DevOps tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services is required.Experience with frontend and backend web application fundamentals including MySQL, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, JVM, Apache TomcatUnix/Linux user experience, some IT knowledge a plus.Experience in working with REST APIs and endpoints is required.Experience with XML, YAML and JSON data formats is required.Experience in Verification and validation of embedded software productsFamiliarity with command line build toolsTravel Time:
