Job Description:
Microchip’s Applications Engineering team focuses on helping our key customers understand and integrate Microchip’s suite of devices into their products.
Responsibilities
Microchip is looking for an Applications Engineer with a background in high-speed automotive link applications, especially focused upon automotive SerDes. In this position, you will be generating, managing, and maintaining a suite of hardware and software design collateral for Microchip’s latest ASA devices for camera and display applications. You will work closely with Tier 1 OEMs in Automotive, Industrial and Communications and sectors to define requirements, manage deliverables, and support initial design bring-up to full production.
As the part of the ASA support team, you will:
Be able to work independently, yet in a team environment
Be willing to travel to work on-site at large corporations to debug hardware, software, and firmware while under tight deadlines.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to support customers
Have a key focus on assisting the customer ramp to production
Own the responsibility of providing technical support for customer post-production products.
Specifically, you will be required to understand customer requirements, architectures, and HW/SW designs to help them fully realize all their needed functionality. Also characterize customer related problems, providing timely customer technical support and engineering feedback.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in EE, CS, or CE
Minimum 7+ years professional experience, ideally with high-speed link including automotive Ethernet, automotive SerDes
Experience working with scripts,build tools, and building open-source applications for Linux
Experience with automotive camera/display systems
Experience with ECU programming including drivers and applications
Experience with scripting (Python, Bash, TCL, etc)
Experience working with Marketing and Sales teams
Customer facing experience
Strong teamwork, communication, and presentation skills
