Job Description:

About the Role:

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a qualified Senior IT Systems Technician I to provide internal Tier-2 desktop support for our facility in Boulder, Colorado. In this role, you will serve as a critical link between Tier-1 and Tier-3 IT teams, ensuring that internal IT issues are resolved in a timely manner. The ideal candidate must possess strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical teams and non-technical end users to clearly explain issues and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day technical support for over 80 users, including desktop systems, hardware, software, networking, and basic server/storage infrastructureInstall, configure, and troubleshoot Windows XP, 7, 10, and 11 operating systems, smartphones, and network devices in a mixed-platform environmentManage user and computer accounts in Active DirectoryPerform Windows imaging for hardware replacements and new deploymentsAnalyze, install, and support Microsoft products, various security tools, and other supported applicationsTroubleshoot basic Unix/Linux issuesAssist in the standardization of IT support processes, procedures, and policiesContribute to the development of IT infrastructure and support projectsProvide remote support to home-based users as neededTravel to other Microchip facilities in North America may be required

Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in an IT support roleStrong customer service and communication skillsProficient with Windows 10/11, Active Directory, and Microsoft O365Experience with Windows and Linux server operating systems is a plusAbility to manage multiple support requests in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentTeam-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindsetComfortable working within a multi-tiered support structureU.S. Citizenship Required

Preferred Skills/Certifications:

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in Colorado, is $64,480 - $128,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
